"...Sugar-free sweeteners are now predominantly based on polyols as they closely mimic the crystals of their sugar equivalents. However, we are now seeing the evolution of new trends - sugar-reduced and better-for-you confectionery. This paves the way for the use of NUTRIOSE®, as that facilitates the production of fiber-enriched products. It can also operate as a total or partial sugar replacement with a low-glycaemic response. NUTRIOSE® may also be combined with polyols, yet be kept at concentrations in the finished products that are below those requiring labelling. It is extremely versatile and may even be used in yoghurt, baked goods, beverages, etc."...
"...NUTRIOSE® is derived from various starches - NUTRIOSE® FB is from wheat, whereas NUTRIOSE® FM is from maize. There are also numerous different grades, used according to product type. For example, NUTRIOSE® FB 06 has a low glycaemic response and the DS version has an 85 per cent fibre content..."
