It will be a great opportunity for nutrition experts to exchange and communicate on the latest developments in the food, health and economic fields.

NUTRIOSE/PRESS RELEASE/ILSI 2007WHO recently reported that many chronic diseases are related to changes in diet (richer in high-fat, high-energy foods) together with more sedentary lifestyles. Among these diseases, obesity and type 2-diabetes are reaching epidemic levels.

Cooking, eating and snacking are physiological needs driven by pleasure tracking. Industry is supporting the authorities’ educational mission in favor of healthier lifestyles by working to provide healthier and still great-tasting food. The food industry can not prevent people from snacking, but can provide tasty and healthy snacks thanks to a careful selection of ingredients and recipes.

In line with these trends, fiber enriched snacks are expanding worldwide thanks to the remarkable, clinically proven nutritional benefits of fiber, which include:

  • Satiety and weight management
  • Low caloric value
  • Low glycaemic and insulinaemic responses
  • Prebiotic effects
  • Intestinal regularity and intestinal comfort

…with few or no technological adjustments.

It is a great honor for Roquette to announce that this lecture will be given by Pr FaJi ZHAO, Honorary Director of the Chinese Nutrition Society and Honorary Consultant of the Shanghai Preventive Medical Association.
